The exhibition of photography and painting abstractions “Rhythms” was open at Kaunas City Municipality Vincas Kudirka Public Library in August. The initiators of the exhibition were the art photographer Vilija Kailiūtė and painter Antanas Andziulis. 2

The recently interviewed ceramicist Prof. Aldona Keturakienė (b. 1945) may tell many memorable stories, which are met in literature more often than in real life, from any period of her life. As the artist told her biography coherently (from adventures at Ukmergė kindergarten, secondary school, family and starting to live on one’s own to independent choice of education and studies at various Lithuanian art institutions), in the article the entire period of younth and creative searches of the artist (in the period of 1961–1973) is reviewed. 1

The author of the article participated in the opening event of the exhibition and heard the short comments of the painter’s friends: “Interesting”, “Very good”, “Different than previous ones”. 1

Music and art intertwined and replenished each other by their features in the contemporary art symposium “Glass Jazz 2014, which took place in Panevėžys at the end of August – beginning of September. Improvisation was one of the main aims while implementing the idea of the symposium. Still, improvisation is not chaos – it is the symbiosis of systematic work, creation and professionalism.
This year the 91st birth anniversary of the well-known Lithuanian artist of elder generation Jadvyga Mozūraitė-Klemkienė (1923–2009) and 90th birth anniversary of Vytautas Klemka (1924–1991) is marked. On this occasion the exhibition “Spread Wings of Tradition: Creative Work of Jadvyga Mozūraitė-Klemkienė and Vytautas Klemka” was opened at Kaunas Picture Gallery of the National M.K.Čiurlionis Art Museum.
