Romualdas Požerskis was born on July 7, 1951 in Vilnius. He attended Kaunas Polytechnic in 1969–1975. From 1980 he started working as a free photographer and prepared photographs for the Lithuanian and foreign press. Since 1993 he has been working as a lecturer of Vytautas Magnus University, Arts Institute – he reads lectures of photography aesthetics and history.

R. Požerskis started taking photographs from 1964 by the camera given by his father. From 1976 he is a member of the Lithuanian Union of Art Photographers; from 1989 – an honourable Lithuanian artist; in 1990 – winner of the Lithuanian national cultural and arts prize; in 2005 he was awarded with the knight’s cross for “Merits to Lithuania”.
