In brief: Recently, the Museum Night took place. Many of Kaunas museums were open until midnight. This specific night attracted crowds of people, who willingly attended exhibitions and took interest in what is currently happening in the art arena.

Jubilee exhibition of the Lithuanian Expatriate Art Foundation From realism to object. World Lithuanian art in the Lithuanian Expatriate Art Foundation's collection is open in M. Žilinskas Art gallery until the 29th of May. The exhibition consists of paintings, sculptures, photographs and installations; it features 27 Lithuanian expatriate artists. According to the curator Dr. Rasa Žukienė, "This exhibition is a wide and contrasting panorama of the 20th and 21st century Lithuanian art that reflects artists' achievements. Works selected from the abundant and rich Lithuanian Expatriate Art Foundation's collection are artefacts of high artistic level that have been exhibited in the various galleries and museums of the world."

The expatriate art is continued at the M. Žilinskas gallery by Aldona Gustas' exhibition I am we (the exhibition will take place until the 29th of May). For the first time exhibition features paintings created between 1989 and 1991 that author donated to the National M. K. Čiurlionis Art Museum.

A. Gustas is distinguished by the fact that line in her works constructs the story. Author cares about linearity, through which she conveys abstract images (in paintings We discover ourselves, Our discovery, Affinity or Together I). In this case it is important to look for yourself through another person. To see yourself as a part of someone else.

You can also get acquainted with the Lithuanian expatriate art at Maironis Lithuanian Literature Museum that hosts a retrospective exhibition of Antanas Liutkus A return from Côte d’Azur to Kaunas (exhibition will last until the 11th of June). The exposition consists of painting, monotypes and watercolors. A. Liutkus stands out, because of his paintings of South of France. According to Prof. Dr. Rasa Žukienė, "A. Liutkus is an amazing colorist, who had a very easy hand. His art is like comfort for all of us."

Memory is also important for the photographer Eigirdas Scinskas, who presents his painting exhibition at the Aukso pjūvis gallery (until the 28th of May). Exhibition consists of large format works, bright colors and abstractions. E. Scinskas creates abstractions, which force the viewer into the world of painting to carefully explore his works, because there are more interpretations than one even though the artwork has a clear title.

Kaunas graphic artist Aistė Ramūnaitė presents her exhibition The squares' theory at the Parko gallery (exhibition will take place until the 28th of May). Through the image of a square graphic artist reflects the being and experiences of an individual. She allows the viewer to get acquainted with a clear, colored but abstract world. Artist invites the viewer into a mysterious world of squares that can be perceived differently by everyone.
