Vytautas Umbrasas was born in Kaunas on September 20, 1958. In 1974 he graduated from Kaunas S. Nėris Secondary School. In 1974-79 he studied at Kaunas S. Žukas Technical School of Applied Arts, specialty of artistic wood processing. In 1983-89 he studied at the State Art Institute where he obtained the specialty of sculptor and teacher. In 1989-1992 he worked as a teacher at Kaunas Children’s Art School. From 1989 he is lecturing at Kaunas Higher Art School (J. Vienožinskis Art Study Centre). From 1992 he is a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union. Vytautas Umbrasas has been participating in exhibitions since 1988. He works in the field of sculpture.
