Gražina Balandytė was born in Šiauliai district on June 27, 1937. In 1956, she graduated from the actor’s studies. She acted at Klaipėda Drama Theatre between 1957–1958 and became an actress of Kaunas Drama Theatre from 1958. She is participating in performances of other theatres, TV films and show programmes, she has been filmed in the cinema. Balandytė is the winner of the Golden Stage Cross and Fortune prize.
