Painter Gintautas Vaičys was born in Kaunas on December 27, 1965. In 1984 he graduated from J. Naujalis Secondary Art School. In 1987-1993 he studied at Vilnius Art Academy, where he obtained painter’s specialty. Since 1993 he has been teaching at Kaunas Art Gymnasium. The artist has been participating in exhibitions since 1989. Since 1999 he is a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union. Since 2009 he is the Chairman of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association, Kaunas Department. Gintautas Vaičys works in the field of painting, photography, video and object art, drawing. He also is known as organizer and curator of various artistic events in Kaunas.
