Kaunas State Musical Theatre is one of three theatres that have a constant repertoire of musical stage performances and the second largest theatre in Lithuania. The theatre follows the tradition to stage all genres of the musical stage – operas, operettas, musicals, dance performances.
The theatre, which was the first to start staging operettas and musicals in Lithuania, presents the widest variety of styles and stagings, and its troupe is considered to be the standard of performing these genres.
The newest stagings of operas have received perfect evaluation of music admirers and theatre experts as well. The repertoire of the theatre is regularly replenished by works of Lithuanian composers.
The most famous operetta masters of the elder generation are singing in the performances of the theatre, young singers are talented and have masters actor's skills well. The theatre may also boast of the brightest soloists of the Lithuanian National Ballet and Theatre and talented independent performers.
Six operas, nine operettas, four musicals, one dance performances and four performances to young spectators may be watched at the theatre presently.
