In brief: If you consider yourself a lover of art and especially a fan of photography, get ready to spend a lot of time at the Kaunas Photo Festival exhibition Street value, because here, your eyes will be delighted with the abundance of information and images. Street value explores the boundaries between public spaces - visible to all, available to everyone to pass through and step on - and the impact this space has on our lives and our own development.

Photographer Donatas Stankevičius chooses to observe bus stops - a place where people are simply sitting or standing and waiting. The photographs capture an inner state - waiting, until your journey from one point to another will begin; nothing else is happening.

Mathieu Nonnenmacher (France) in the exhibition presents a different street value. Self-taught photographer, hitchhiking around the world, recorded the tops of the highest buildings, or to be more precise - the view available from these tops.

We can easily say that photographer Massimo Branca (Italy) is able to capture the traces of human destiny and can help people open up to him. His photographs in this exhibition touch upon the painful social reality. Images captured by M. Branca features the environment of the people living underground the Bucharest city center.

Marton Kallai (Hungary) photographs the lush community gardens of Budapest. Traveling around Hungarian villages, author noticed an interesting thing - people do not need agriculture, horticulture or gardening anymore - all can be bought in shops. Meanwhile, people who live in the city and have a few patches of land between the concrete buildings use it for various little gardens.

Audrius Kriaučiūnas from Lithuania is analyzing a similar idea in his photographs. But, instead of gardens, he rather directs his camera at the palm trees growing in the Netherlands, where they should not be growing.

Kaunas Photography Gallery is featuring another Kaunas Photo Festival exhibition. It contains the works of this year's Kaunas Photo Star competition winner Julien Lombardi (1980). In the exhibition The Unfinished artist explores Armenia - his mother's native country, which, after the collapse of the Soviet Union found itself among the two worlds - past and future. The young country is still trying to find itself but the conflicts with neighboring Azerbaijan over the Nagorno-Karabakh region does not help. In his photographs Lombardi is trying to uncover and highlight the country's isolation and young republic's lies about recovery and growth.
