Romualdas Čarna was born in Simaniškiai village, Panevėžys district on the 9th of December, 1939. In 1951-60 he studied at Rozalimas Secondary School, in 1961-97 – at the State Art Institute and acquired the speciality of a graphic artist. In 1970-91 he taught graphic arts at Kaunas J.Naujalis Art School. In 1999 he was elected the most prominent artist of Kaunas. In 2009 he was awarded the Santaka (Confluence) Medal of Honour of the Second Degree and the Culture and Art Prize of Kaunas City Municipality for the contribution to the development of visual arts. The artist works in the field of graphic arts.
