Aušra Barzdukaitė - Vaitkūnienė was born in Kaunas on May 9, 1962. She entered the Lithuanian Art Institute (present State Art Academy) in 1980 and graduated from the specialty of painting of this institute in 1986. Since 1987 she has been participating in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. In 1992 she was accepted to the Lithuanian Artists’ Association. The artist has been working as a lecturer at Kaunas Higher Art School (present Kaunas College, J. Vienožinskis Art Study Centre) since 1988. A docent since 2004. The artist works in the field of painting.
