Even though there is only one hero of the book, it is an authentic story about two artists, Arūnas and Aušra full of fragments of a novel and real life, smells and vision. Such is the mood of the book, and it should be accepted in this way. The works of A.Vaitkūnas have a patron worth it, who is knowledgeable enough, loving and bold. It is the main stroke of the double portrait.

MARIANA VERIOVKINA AND KAUNAS 2010-01-18

M.Veriovkina and Kaunas is one of the unrealised or perhaps forgotten facts of multinational Kaunas culture history of the 20th century, similarly to episodes of Mark Chagall, Mstislav Dobuzinski or Fiodor Shaliapin. There are many descriptions and drawings of Kaunas in letters written by M.Veriovkina. There are plenty of Lithuanian motifs in her works, and titles of paintings remind to visitors of European museums about the relations of the artist with Lithuania.

In brief: The second amendment of Kaunas City General Plan was considered in the first meeting of Kaunas Architecture and City Planning Experts’ Council (KAUET) in 2010. The amendment may determine the preservation or destruction of unique urban, architectural and natural values in Kaunas.
