In brief: Amber Trio is a collective of young performers, graduates of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre Vitalija Makrickienė (violin), Mantas Makrickas (viola) and Eglė Kižytė-Ramonienė (piano). Though young, the musicians evidently look in the same direction and reach for one aim.

Amber Trio organised a concert at the National M.K.Čiurlionis Art Museum on the 6th of May. They performed the concert for two violins and orchestra in d minor of J. S. Bach adapted to violin, viola and piano, Piano Trio in Es major of L. Van Beethoven, a cycle of plays of T. Makachin “Armenian Pages” and “Spring” of A. Piazzolla from the cycle “Seasons” during the concert.

The opus of J.S.Bach opened the concert – though adapted to a different composition of instruments, the opus sounded naturally and organically. This Concert is a complicated polyphonic music piece in which each instrument is equally important. While violin resounded loudly, viola remained at the side of polyphonic passages of the violin and piano.

Meanwhile, the Piano Trio in Es major of L. Van Beethoven sounded differently. After the rather timid start, the musicians further revealed their possibilities of expression. Despite some rhythmical misunderstandings, the interpretation of the opus was united and soft; only some more contrast could have been put between accords of different character.

The cycle of small plays of T. Makachin charmed the audience. “Armenian Pages” did not sound too temperamental, the plays were performed in romantic, subtle and sensitive mood. The temperament could be expressed by the opus of A. Piazzolla “Spring”, the play in tango rhythm. It seemed that the power accumulated during the entire concert was revealed here.

The afternoon of Amber Trio music was dynamic and interesting, full of diverse colours. Cosy atmosphere was created by the violinist Vitalija Makrickienė, who played as well as presented opuses of the concert sincerely.
