“Bitė Vilnius” – international meeting of young artists 0, 2013-05-28

The meeting of young Baltic and Scandinavian artists “Bitė Vilnius” will take place in Vilnius, at St. John’s Street Gallery on June 4-8. The aim of the project is immediate cooperation and live creation. The project provides a possibility for young artists to create together in Vilnius for a week and to present their works to the audience.

June 5, 5 pm. Opening of the exhibition. Artists will create and construct their works in the gothic cellars of the gallery during the first days and will present them on the opening. On the same evening participants of the project will present their video and animated works created during the latter years.

June 7, 4 pm. “Evening of performances”. It is a free event during which artists will create, improvise and read their texts in front of the audience.

The project is organised at the initiative of students and it unites creative powers from five Baltic and Scandinavian academies of arts: Vilnius Academy of Arts (LT), Estonian Academy of Arts (ES), Finnish Academy of Arts (FIN), Troms Academy of Contemporary Arts (NO) and Jylland Academy of Arts (DK).

The exhibition will be open until June 8.
