Drawings, or otherwise - painting on paper can be often seen in the works of both Aušra Andziulytė and Aušra Barzdukaitė-Vaitkūnienė. We have attained their exhibition dedicated solely to paper and line. However, pencil is often replaced with a wide brush or the edge of paper smeared with or dipped in paint - the paper itself experiences strange metamorphoses here.

The works of Elena Jakutytė are understood as the symbol of Lithuanian national identity. Her creation inspired by folk art is close to it by the forms and content. Cycles of prints on themes of folk songs and St. George uphold the national identity which was very important during the period of the Soviet empire. At the same time her works do not lose artistic value and enrich the national tradition by new discovered symbols.

WHAT KILLED STAINED-GLASS? 2011-01-14

The painter, stained-glass and installation creator Eimutis Markūnas, whose stained-glass works decorate spaces of Lithuanian and foreign buildings, believes that the golden age of stained-glass has gone for good. In his opinion, this kind of art will surely change fundamentally, and there is no place for traditional stained-glass in post-modern architecture at all.
