The painting exhibition of Kaunas artist Elena Balsiukaitė-Brazdžiūnienė was open in Kaunas, old Žaliakalnis quarter, on the Owls’ Hill, at the Art School in April. The author and the curator, painter Arvydas Martinaitis formed the exhibition “Painting” from works of the earliest creative period. The collection of works created by the artist in 1991-1995 is displayed in Kaunas for the first time. 3

“Horoscopes and beads match very well in my opinion as they are both kitsch, superficial, and technique helps to reveal and give prominence to the general idea. The surface created from many colourful beads strengthens the critical attitude to horoscopes,” the artist Rūta Naujalytė states.
This correspondence with the brother filled the free time of Elena and was the biggest spiritual joy for the artist. Letters were more than formality to the artist. It is possible to find cut out photos from newspapers, headings and separate words among documents of Elena Jakutytė – perhaps they could be used in letters.
