A person who decides to devote a day for a cultural walk in Kaunas may find many traditional exhibitions of good painting and sculpture in the city. Still, if he/she searched for interactive exhibitions or art actions where he/she would become a participant or co-author of artistic projects, he/she could frustrate – such events are rare.
The young artist Povilas Ramanauskas walks in periphery of painting media and raises fundamental questions: what painting is and where its margins are? Painting is often the theme and the research object in works of the artist.
This autumn the works of the painters Aistė Juškevičiūtė and Ramunė Staškevičiūtė were displayed in the exhibition from the cycle “Duets” at Aukso Pjūvis gallery in Kaunas. Recent works of the artists show that diverse means of artistic expression and issues of self expression still remain the most important foundations of creation for them.
