Speaking about the problem of establishing the position of theatre youth, about the place of students’ performances in the theatre system, one problem is evident in Lithuania – the lack of a special students’ theatre. A theatre that reflects the educational process may not be related with commercial expectations or pushed into creative institutions uniting professionals.
Every prize may easily become an anti-prize, should the ideological scheme or conjuncture change. Who is proud of names of Stalin, Lenin, USSR national painters? When electing the best and other works awarded by prizes, we are playing one-day games. Meanwhile, recession of serious artistic ideas is evident in exhibition halls.
Literature may contain signs of philosophy, psychology or religion. When these signs are subtly used in the integral texture of the novel, an attractive and persuasive story may be created. Unfortunately, the authors of “The Grave of Nostradamus” fail to achieve this.
Perhaps A.Camus was right saying that “everything that inspires to live increases the absurdity of life at the same time“. Is such a “happy ending” projected in the “Return to the Dessert”? The audience leaves the performance puzzled – as if somebody took away the emotional charge which was promised publicly at the beginning.
The first meeting of Kaunas Architecture and Urbanism Experts’ Council of year 2009 was dedicated to bold visions of urbane future of Kaunas new town and the conversion of the unfinished Soviet hotel-ghost at Kęstučio Str. 26 into a multi-apartment house.
