The Minor Theatre which counts the second dozen of years in the old town of Kaunas is not a minor theatre any more. Stagings of works of contemporary authors dominate in the repertoire. Beautiful tales are offered to the small, tragic comedies, comedies and tragedies – to elder spectators.
The most scandalous performance of the theatre “Kitty P” (EveEnsler “The Vagina Monologues”, director V. Balsys) was one of the most wanted performances at the international festival in Albania (Tirana art biennial), in Germany – Leipzig (Euro-scene) and Dresden (Societaetstheater).
The performance “Research on Truth” (or “Fernand Krap has Written a Letter to Me” according to Tankred Dorst, director V.Balsys) presented the Minor Theatre during the Action of New German Drama in Lithuania.
Performances “Apple Stories”, “Star the Heart of Which Throbbed”, improvisations of Plikis and Šmikis are shown to the small audience, and a Christmas programme is prepared at the theatre every year.
